Flooded batteries, also known as wet cell batteries, contain and use a liquid electrolyte and lead plates to generate electricity. The benefits of flooded batteries include:

• More power and CCA than conventional batteries

You can visit your local Certified Service  location for assistance with installing a new car battery. Additionally, many auto parts retailers offer to install new car batteries with purchase.

Onstar^® services can help you jumpstart a dead battery to get you back on the road, but do not replace or install new batteries. If you use a different roadside assistance provider, consult your plan or contact them for more information on battery replacement and installation.

When you purchase your new battery, most places that sell automotive batteries will exchange the battery for a core charge. If you need to dispose of a battery and not exchanging for a new battery, many retailers that sell batteries will dispose of old batteries for you. If this is not an option, contact your local city or municipality to learn how to dispose of the battery as hazardous waste.
